This is me, giving up.

I can't kid myself it's just off on a walkabout anymore. I've lost my cell phone. I've searched all the cars, my desk & computer bag at work, my briefcase, and my gym bag. I've picked up, shaken and re-folded every garment I took to 12th night (the last place I'm sure I used it) and checked every suitcase, bag, basket, and box that went with us. I even checked GM's shaving kit.
I've thought about calling the hotel, but I'm not sure how to describe the phone. It's a small black phone with zero distinguishing features. Crap.

Do you want me to call it?

You call the hotel, check that they have a cell phone, call the cell phone. That usually works to identify it.

This assumes the phone has any power left after a month, but I'll try. I did call it a few days ago, but the call went straight to voice mail like the phone was in power-off. I'll call the hotel and see what they say.

Plus,

the phone company that sold you the phone knows which one it is.

If you're on AT&T, you can log in to their Web site, and it'll show you the phone they think you have.

(However, if you haven't logged in before, you may need the phone to do that, so they can send you a confirmation message...)

Good thought. I checked the website, and I last used the phone on the 10th, well after 12th night. So it's not at the hotel. Thanks!

Ah! I didn't even think of checking the usage records. I'll have to remember that one.

Jan 10 was a Saturday

Do you recall where you were when you made that call on the 10th? What else you did that day?

I feel your pain--I am about to give up on mine as well. It is, as they say, the suck.

Bummer!

Not that it helps much now, but if/when you recover or replace the phone, put a distinguishing feature on it. Sstickers or cell phone charms aren't as juvenile as they seem: if mine goes missing I can describe it as a black Motorola phone with a pewter monkey (of course!) charm on it.
