A possible cause and cure (happy dance!) has been found for bee hives suffering from colony collapse disorder.
Hopefully research will continue.

Not to rain on the parade, but nosema is just one on many bee problems. As the article mentions "Honeybees are attacked by numerous pathogens including viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites"
That fumagillin medication they mention has been commercially available for years, and I know lots of beekeepers who have tried it. If your hives are infected with Nosema, it helps, but it does nothing to prevent any of the other stuff affecting the bees.
