I am a library volunteer. I can attest to the presence of many "kittens", but we just sell most of them to whomever comes up with 2 bucks. (It is our policy to trash old coputer books and textbooks.) Sale is this weekend: we have a lot of nearly new fiction, and some interesting non fiction for sale.
A few weeks ago, a co-worker, believing she was doing me a favor, unloaded three bankers' boxes full of art supplies on me. I took it all home and stood over the garbage can testing dried out markers and fossilized paint tubes for about half an hour. I netted three pads of art paper, a couple picture frames and a mat cutter, but most of it had to be thrown out.
We used to get that at StonedMountain, too. Someone would be cleaning out mom/auntie/grandma's sewing stuff and would come in and offer it to us, just to get rid of them.
Yep...Periodically SCA trailers need to be parked with someone with both a good personal knowledge of organizational history and a strong culling instinct.
