For all I was worried about Mists Coronet, it went really, really well. Guards and Courtiers were there to help set up the principality pavilions at 7am, by 9am we were ready to start. Lists went smoothly, the Princess’s tea had many contributions (and sugar-seeking wasps, dammit!), finals were completed well ahead of time and final court went smoothly. It was amazing to see so many people pitch in to drop tents and get off site quickly. I’ve been a bit burnt out on 10% of the volunteers doing 90% of the work in the last couple of years, so it was good to see our community come together.

Layers, starting from the bottom:  sauce, noodles, goat cheese  mixed with an egg (no ricotta and didn’t wanna go shopping), thinly sliced  green olives stuffed with garlic, cheese, more noodles, sauce,  meat (hot Italian sausages and pepperoni), onions and leeks, blobs of Classico pesto, more cheese, sauce, noodles, 10 oz pre-sliced crimini mushrooms, nicoise olives (chopped), cheese, sauce, sliced mozzarella balls and a liberal sprinkling of parmesan.
Why was it the lasagna of laziness? GM chopped al the onions, and I neither cleaned basil nor sliced an entire head of garlic into paper-thin pieces. Even a lazy lasagna is still pretty good.

Did you deliberately make a Salman Rushdie reference?

Only indirectly, a few years ago I made a post about the Lasagne of Anxiety and you told me about Midnight's Children. I still need to read it.
