Twix candy bars just went from  2 ounces to 1.79 ounces with no reduction in price. Fuckers. I need to stop stress-eating anyway, so maybe this is good for me.

mmm... Twix

I can't believe the candy bars at the grocery store are 99 cents. That's what keeps them out of my cart.

That works for me when I'm *thinking*. Today has not been a thinking day. I didn't even notice the wrapper was different until I was already pushing the buttons on the great coffin o'candy in the break room.

I hate that, too. And it plays hell with recipes that assume that a can of beans is a pound, or whatever.

Generally I can avoid candy machines and point-of-purchase displays by reminding myself that I have better chocolate at home :-)

(That said, I *do* like Twix bars, so I share your frustration at the duplicitous manufacturers....)

I try to remind myself of that too, just today was not a good day.

Well, I hope tomorrow is better (and if it isn't, stop at your favorite chocolatier and buy one exquisite dark-chocolate bonbon to savor after dinner).

Hmmm, they are trying to make us healthy by providing less of the junk in their junk food?

I checked the wrapper, and no, it doesn't look like they were trying to re-image for two 100-calorie snack sticks. The calorie info (250, 13% DV per pack) is on the front, in a readable font. Maybe the Mars Co ramped down to comply with new requirements?

I think I read (in Eat This, Not That?) that Twix are horrible calorie sinks. Much worse than some of the regulars.

Whoa, you're right! http://health.yahoo.com/experts/eatthis/22252/americas-worst-supermarket-foods/

Fortunatly, the HundrendThousandDollarBar is my _other_ favorite, and they don't have those in the vending machine.

man, I'd take the bacon. I didn't realize they were that bad. I'm thinking the bacon comparison might work for a lot of foods. - Eat Bacon, Not That.

We have a free vending machine at work. Fortunately, they don't have any of my favorites in the machine, or I would use it even more than I already do.
